YOGA

You might think of yoga as a series of postures. But yoga is about more than posing. It was once widely considered a way of preparing the body for deep meditation.

The word “yoga” originally meant “yoke.” It evokes a sense of disciplinary regimentation. Yoga originated with Hindu ascetics in a region today known as India.

I have been trained in yoga and meditation at some of the most recognizable and respected centers in America, including at Piedmont Yoga, Spirit Rock Meditation Center, and HeartMath Institute.

My workshops foreground meditation and listening to the body. Where physical movement is a component, we hold the intense poses to feel the fire. But we also do more restorative postures. We do breathwork. We meditate and touch into our hearts.

Meditation and yoga are ancient practices. Yet they are alive. My courses are not about forcing your body into a shape, or sitting endlessly in frustration. In my workshops, you will enjoy guided meditations and moving with intention, because the body is an extension of the soul.
